Two-Generation Practice

Aledo, Texas, Since 1998

A practice grown one relationship at a time.

Gough Wealth Management started with a simple idea: take care of people, and the rest will follow. What began in 1998 with Brent Gough building relationships one conversation at a time has become a trusted family practice serving clients across Parker County. Today, Brent and Slaten lead it together, each fully invested in the relationships they’ve built and the ones still ahead.

“It was helping clients, adding value to people’s lives, and changing lives. We have very deep roots and good relationships here.”

The Families We Sit Across From

Success creates complexity.
We help organize it.

We serve families, business owners, and high earners in Parker County and throughout the countryโ€” people whose financial lives have grown too complex to manage without a comprehensive plan behind them.

Families Building Multi-Generational Wealth

As your assets grow, the question shifts from accumulation to stewardship. For families, we focus on giving coordination, heir preparation, and preserving what’s been accumulated from unnecessary erosion.

Pre-Retirees & New Retirees

Social Security timing, income distribution, tax-efficient withdrawals, and legacy planning all converge at once. We work through each one with you, so nothing gets decided under pressure.

Equine Industry Professionals

Horse trainers and others in the equine industry often earn strong incomes, but can face real uncertainty about how and where to invest. The cash-heavy nature of the business creates planning challenges many advisors haven’t seen. We have.

Business Owners & Entrepreneurs

You’ve poured years into your business. Now you’re thinking about what comes next. We work alongside you to translate business success into lasting personal financial strength.

Why People Stay

We handle the details so you don’t have to.

  • Father-and-son advisors. Two generations, in the same office, working with the same families.
  • Twenty-seven years in Parker County. Brent and Slaten have built lasting relationships with families in Aledo, Weatherford, and Fort Worth since 1998.
  • Industry specialization. We understand the planning challenges of horse trainers, ranchers, and other equine professionals.
  • Direct access. When something matters, you call us.

Follow Along

We are honored to once again sponsor the shirts for the Aledo Bearcat Baseball Camp, a tradition that Gough Wealth Management has proudly supported since 1999, helping 288 young athletes from our community this year. The Aledo baseball program has established a remarkable tradition of excellence, and with the Bearcats recently capturing back-to-back State Championships, these young players have outstanding role models demonstrating what hard work, dedication, teamwork, and perseverance can achieve. This annual camp provides a fantastic opportunity for kids to develop their skills, learn from exceptional coaches and players, and build friendships that will last long after the final out. At Gough Wealth Management, we believe strong communities are built by investing in the next generation. We are grateful for the opportunity to support a program that positively impacts so many young athletes and their families. Congratulations to the Bearcats on their continued success and thank you to Coach Barry and his coaching staff, along with the families and volunteers, who make this camp such a meaningful experience each year. The future of Bearcat Baseball is bright. See MoreSee Less

Saving for retirement is only part of the equation. The next question becomes how that wealth turns into income that can support your lifestyle over time.Where withdrawals come from, how they adjust through different market environments, and how they fit into your broader financial picture all play a role in how sustainable the plan actually is.This is where retirement planning becomes more than a number. It becomes an ongoing strategy that evolves as life does. See MoreSee Less

Families don't avoid legacy planning because they don't care. They avoid it because it feels uncomfortable or rationalized as "something we'll get to later."Unfortunately, "later" often turns into never, leaving family members to piece things together during an already emotional time. These conversations matter before they become urgent. Not just for financial reasons, but to make things simpler for the people you care about most. See MoreSee Less
